Ashtanga Yoga see class schedule for class times Developed
by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of India and is an aerobic, muscle shaping,
mind sculpting, physically demanding workout. Students move through a
series of flows, moving from one posture to another to build strength,
flexibility, and stamina. Ashtanga often appeals to athletes and those
who enjoy high energy exercise. This system was developed to build an
internal heat that helps to detoxify and build up your immune system.
By maintaining a diligent practice with discipline one will be able to
make the mind clear.
Chair Yoga Mondays at 10am Come
experience yoga on a chair and receive all the benefits that you would
from doing yoga on a mat. Learn a routine you can take to work with
you. Shut the door and take your phone off the hook to give yourself
the best chance for full mental relaxation great for seniors! Pre registration is required.
Hatha Yoga Hatha Yoga is the most widely practiced form of yoga in the world. Hatha
Yoga uses postures (asana) and conscious breathing (Pranayama) in
combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and
flexibility, and relaxation.
Gentle Yoga A
gentle, calming, therapeutic kind of yoga. The asana (posture)
practice is the careful integration of the flow of breath with movement
of the spine. It is a soothing and nurturing practice that promotes
the effects of conscious relaxation. Great for beginners, pre and post
natal women and seniors.
Keiki Yoga Improve
strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children ages 4-9 will learn
how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and
visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect
for others with the practice of fun postures, group games, breathing
and basic anatomy and nutrition.
Mom and Baby Yoga Class
includes yoga and movement to aid recovery from pregnancy and birth,
discussion and community building to ease the transition into
motherhood, and a fun opportunity to connect with your baby. Babies are
always honored in this class, even when they are crying, need to be
changed or fed. Moms never need to leave the class to meet their
babies' needs. If you are struggling with a fussy baby, you will find
comfort and support here. No prior yoga experience needed. Dads are
welcome too.
Partner Yoga Workshop for Husbands and Wives
Partner Yoga emphasizes
building trust in and sensitivity to relationship while exploring the
balance, centeredness, and healing qualities of yoga. Partner yoga
opens body, mind and emotions to subtle levels of energetic contact and
non-verbal communication. Working with a partner, you experience the
postures with mutual support and close contact. The practice includes
meditative sequencing that increases your flexibility and stamina,
reducing tension and stress while enhancing the trust between husbands
& wives.
Prenatal Yoga Whether you are new to yoga or already an experienced practitioner, you can enjoy the benefits of yoga while pregnant. Doing prenatal yoga can be a wonderful way to put time aside for
yourself and your baby. Although most gentle types of yoga are
appropriate during pregnancy, there are a few things to avoid in order
to make your pregnancy yoga experience safe and enjoyable.
Vinyasa Basics Fridays at 10:15am You will learn ujjayi (breathing technique), bandhas (internal body
locks), drishti (gazing point) and vinyasa (breath synchronized
movement). You will begin working with Surya Namaskar A&B (sun
salutations), the standing poses and some of the primary sequence. The
class will move vinyasa by vinyasa (step by step) so that you may grow
with your practice. Modifications will be given for each pose. Making yoga accessible to all. Great for beginners!
Vinyasa Flow An
evolving form of traditional hatha yoga that integrates breath with
movement, fluidity with alignment, strength with flexibility and
practice with daily life. An energetic vinyasa (flowing from one
posture to the next) form of Hatha yoga in which postures are fluidly
linked together in a continuous and somewhat challenging sequence. This
class places a great emphasis on the coordination of breath with
movement, leaving the student feeling energized and more focused.
Vinyasa Fusion Vinyasa
Fusion, suitable for all levels, focus on opening the front body and
strengthening the back. Special attention will be paid to cultivating
awareness in our hands and feet in order to ground us more deeply to
the earth. Learn to create safety and strength by applying basic
alignment principles to a Vinyasa style practice. Whatever reasons you
come for, whether it is to conquer some fears or to increase your
capacity for expansion, this class is for you! Using
Surya namaskar (Sun Salutations) to slowly build up heat and standing
poses to reconnect you with the earth, we will move through a Vinyasa
style practice that will leave you feeling recharged and stress free! Students will
gain the tools to serve
themselves and the opportunity
to explore a singular
journey into yoga.
