We
are especially proud of our Beginner and Introductory Yoga Classes,
designed specifically for new-to-yoga students and led by friendly
instructors trained to help you get the most out of every class.
Things you need to know before getting started:
- No cell phones or pagers in the Studio
- Refrain from wearing perfume or cologne to class
- Arrive 15 minutes before your class time. Do not enter or leave the classroom during meditation or savasana
- Wait 2-3 hours after eating to practice.
- Practice in comfortable clothing to allow for maximum movement and flexibility.
- Mats can be purchased at the studio. Although YOGA4EWA provides yoga mats for use, they are primarily for new students. We recommend, for your own personal hygiene, that you purchase your own mat. Owning your own mat is a commitment to your practice.
- Drink plenty of water before (1-2 hours prior) and after practice. Drinking during practice is not recommended.
- Please inform your instructor of any injuries or illnesses that might affect your practice.
- Yoga is about practicing to your own level. Avoid overstretching or straining. Rest when needed.
- Please let go of the competitive mind-set.
- Yoga is absolutely non-competitive. It is not just a "work out" it is not just "cross-training"; it is a practice which makes the body stronger, more flexible, and healthier, while opening the heart, mind, and spirit.
- Be kind and loving to yourself by accepting where you are. Rest sometimes. "Do what you can, with what you have, with where you are." Remember: Wherever, whenever in our life we begin yoga is perfect. No experience or flexibility required.
- Attend the level of class recommended.
- To honor everyone's path in yoga we ask that you only attend an intermediate class if you have an on-going, consistent practice or by permission of the teacher.
